[OpenLayers-Users] Release?

All...

I've been very impressed by OpenLayers and am trying to use it on a
project. All the features are there that I need but there are two stumbling
blocks:

1) Browser compatibility: Things are working great in Firefox but I've
noticed a few problems with IE6 (which I will be submitting tickets on.)
Unfortunately, I see that browser compatibility is pretty far down the list
on the Roadmap (ticket #79). While it may be too much work to get
OpenLayers working with all the browsers listed in that ticket it would be
great if it worked with the two most popular ones (Mozilla & IE6+?) which
would allow people to start deploying projects based on OpenLayers. If I
were a javascript guru I would help fix these issues.

2) No release: I've been pulling out of SVN nearly on a daily basis but it
means that some days things that worked before are now broken. According to
the roadmap there are only two tickets holding back the first release
(though I'd like to argue that support for Firefox & IE6 is a must for any
release). Unfortunately, most of the work lately is going into adding
support for new layers. I know that's where all the cool stuff is but is
there any chance of stabilizing things and cutting a quick release? I think
for a lot of people just having the features that are there with WMS support
is a tremendous start that would make a good 1.0 release. (Having Google,
Yahoo, MS, Ka-Map layers are nice-to-haves...) Am I alone in this?

Thanks for all the great work you've done.

Corey
