Hello karpi,
The principle is right. I think with the cache, it's something which could
handle OpenLayer perhaps. Copyright. I don't no.

Yes, output projection transformation is a thing, which i will try too.
If I understand you, is possible use mapserver as a "wms-proxy" ..?
1) Load wms in metacarta's projection by mapserver ->
2) in mapserver change into my requiered EPSG ->
3) Send by mapserver as new wms stream
At this point is this step over my skills, but i can ask:
if this principle is right, can i use some cache for downloaded images?
(maybe squid - it is simply http stream as i note) to minimize huge data
transport.
Isn't it abuse of some copyrights?
